One of my sports professors always said, “ the best exercise is the one that actually gets done”. That is very true. The most important thing is that you do something! If you love running or Soul Cycle is life, … great! Keep at it, most importantly is that you move in some sort of way. There really are no bad ways to exercise, whatever you are doing is always better than doing nothing at all.
With training, the hardest thing is getting in the habit of doing something, the first few weeks can be a little tough, but after that it is harder to stop, then keep going. Also, when people feel the benefits, after the initial soreness and aches gets less, it becomes something that is essential for your every day health both physically and mentally.
With that said, you want to try and work hard, but also smart. If you are doing a type of training, where you are constantly dealing with injuries, maybe it is time for a change. If you are getting injured doing athletics, and you are not a pro athlete getting paid, it is not worth it.
Many things can be relieved just by moving, so no matter if it is hitting the weights, boxing, running or mountain biking, just get it done! Not golf, that’s not a sport, it’s an activity!
